In our frenetic world there is a cacophony of information, messages, data, images, media, and voices bombarding us all at once. We're regularly told "do this," "buy this," "wear this," and so on. We usually deploy some kind of filtering system to wade through the noise so we can breathe easily. Interestingly, companies are the same. What we long for, personally or as a business is this, simplicity.
Coffee is meant to be fun. One of the drums that we constantly beat is the need to eschew or put off all pretenses and coffee snobbery. Besides, when you really think about it ... the coffee "bean" is really a seed and all we're doing is roasting it up, grinding it, pouring hot water over it, and then drinking this brown water that we call coffee. (ok, it's a bit more complicated than that)
As we grow our team of sponsored riders we want to make sure we pause long enough in between roasting and sending out coffee all over the world to introduce you to the Loam Coffee family. We'll kick this off with a little Q&A with the newest Loam Coffee Rider ... Lauren Gregg. We asked her a slew of "hard-hitting" questions about life, riding, racing, and of course coffee. You'll learn how Lauren brews her coffee in her sweet new van.
As Revelstoke emerges from its winter wonderland and the lower elevation trails begin to melt it can only one thing for Loam Coffee rider Justin Hodgson ... time to ride! No more road-tripping to warmer and drier climates just to get a ride in. As the trails open and locals get their shred on this season sees Justin with a new bike and bike sponsor. Going into the race season this is what Justin is throwing his leg over these days.
Since we started Loam Coffee we talk to mountain bikers on a daily basis from around the world. Many ask lots of great questions about our coffee, our roast profiles, where we source our beans from, and most often what to try out first.
We thought we'd catch up with Brandon Porter of The SingleTrack Life, a freeride/race team here in Portland that we sponsor and partner with, to see what steed he is throwing his leg of of late.
